As a district, Littleton Public Schools will be converting to a new elementary report card beginning this fall. This memo is to inform you of the upcoming changes and what they will mean for your child’s report card.
The revised report card for grades K-5 will reflect academic achievement in categories such as reading, writing, mathematics, science, and social studies as well as performing arts, physical education, and visual arts. Learner objectives under reading, writing, and mathematics will provide more specific information regarding your child’s progress. A skills and behaviors section has also been added to communicate how work habits support your child’s learning.
Grades K-3 will assign a 4 (exceeds learner objectives), 3 (meets learner objectives), 2 (working towards objectives), 1 (learner objectives not met), or N/A (not assessed). These marks distinguish the student’s overall academic progress. The learner objectives will also be scored using 4, 3, 2, 1, or N/A. Grades 4-5 will continue to give summative A, B, C, D, U, N/A grades for academic achievement each marking period. Learner objectives will be scored using 4, 3, 2, 1, or N/A as described above. This report card has been aligned with the current district approved curriculum and state standards.
