Welcome to Mrs. Swank's Page!
What fun we are having in kindergarten! It is so rewarding to be a part of the children's learning and to see them accomplish new things every day. As we begin the new year we contuinue to focus on reading and writing strategies, along with developing mathematical concepts such as symmetry, counting to 30, skip counting by 2's, 5's and 10's,and recognizing and writing numerals to 30. We continue to work on identifying coins and telling time to the hour, as well as beginning addition and subtraction.
We are also enjoying new experiences in science and social studies. We are learning about weather, the solar system and of course we are all looking forward to Leprechaun catching on St. Patricks Day! Thank you for all of your support and help with those Leprachaun Catchers. I can't wait to see their creations. Please continue reading the"bookbag" books with your child 3x every week. This homework is very important and is having a positive impact on your child's confidence and success as a beginning reader.
