Greetings from Mrs. Swank!
What fun we are having in kindergarten! It is so rewarding to be a part of the children's learning and to see them accomplish new things every day. As we approach the new year,we contuinue to focus on reading and writing strategies, along with developing mathematical concepts such as symmetry, counting to 30, skip counting by 2's, 5's and 10's,and recognizing and writing numerals to 30. Soon we will be learning to identify coins and tell time to the hour! We are also enjoying fun learning experiences in science and social studies. In November we have learned about our five senses and the history of Thanksgiving. We also enjoyed growing alligators for our Science camp. Thank you for all of your support and help. Please remember to send in a washed white sweatshirt for an upcoming art project. During the Holiday's, please continue reading the"bookbag" books with your child 3x every week. This homework is very important and is having a positive impact on your child's confidence and success as a beginning reader. Happy Holidays!
