Dear Wilder Families:
Welcome back to school and welcome to all of the new families attending Wilder this year. We hope everyone enjoyed their summer. First, we would like to take this opportunity to thank you for a great 2009-2010 school year. Because of your generous support, we were able to purchase 3 Net Book carts, 1 for fifth grade, and 2 for fourth grade, we provided funding for staffing, replaced 5 teacher computers, sent teachers to the summer technology conference, and supported many activities throughout the school year.   We look forward to continuing this tradition with all the great fundraisers planned this year, such as the Dollar-a-Day drive, Gift Wrap sales, which kicks off on September 9th, Original Works Artwork in October, and the Silent Auction (save the date, March 12, 2011).
In addition to the fundraising we have done, we have also looked to other sources for funds. For example, the re-loadable King Sooper Cards you purchased have brought in close to $4,000 in just 9 months. Our first restaurant night brought in $700 from Noodles. We earn 1% of purchases on any Target Red Card credit card registered to Wilder and we continue to collect Box Tops for Education and Capri Sun Pouches.
Along with all you do for Wilder, we want to acknowledge the things you do for the community as well. In November last year we started the “Women’s Bean Project” sales, which was a successful fundraiser for Wilder as well as supporting the Women’s Bean Project. In December you generously donated needed items to supply holiday gift bags for our sister school, East Elementary, and don’t forget how quickly you responded when we sold reusable bags to help with disaster relief in Haiti.   We will continue these traditions of giving back!
We have started our year with a kick-off meeting for all our great volunteer chair leaders. We had a room full of fantastic volunteers and know that this school year will be as great as or even better than last year! Everything you do for Wilder is greatly appreciated and as a PTO, we want you to know that whether you have 1 hour or $1 to give to your school, every bit counts!
Please come to our fist PTO meeting this year. It is THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 16TH AT 9:15 AM in the cafeteria. Meet our new principal, Susan Dalton, share your ideas, or just find out what is happening around our school and school district. We look forward to seeing you there!

Sincerely,
Tiffiny Curless
